A Tribute to Kalashnikov by samuelkowal906 A Tribute to Kalashnikov by samuelkowal906
Nothing special here, but I had the vodka (which is pretty rare, and hard to get), and i wanted to make a nice little dispay as a tribute to Mikhail Timfeeovich Kalashnikov, creator of the single most inventive, influential, and widespread rifle in history.

Props are 3 bottles of Kalshnikov 82 proof vodka, 2 romanian AK-47 clones, a shirt with kalshnikov on it, and a lot of 7.62x39mm ammunition. Taken with a point and shoot, so the quality could be better. Fixed it up a tad in photoshop cs3....

"The AK-47 is like 7.62mm-chambered sovereignty: It starts with the innocent desire for self-defense but if you're not careful, it can lead you places you probably shouldn't be going..."

Oh, the migty Kalasnyikov, or as we call her affectionately, Kala! She sings like an angel, takes more pounding than Rocky Marciano ever did and still holds on, the most magnificent weapon ever constructed! Comrade Kalasnyikov, I hail to thee. Haroo! Haroo! Haroo!

I like the upper one better. You know, there's something that's always bugged me. If the guy's name was Kalashnikov, they should have made it the KA-47. Unless AK means Assault Rifle or something?

It's Avtomat Kalshnikov 1947 pattern.

Avtomat means automatic in russian. So, Automatic rifle made by Kalashnikov in 1947 :)

Similarly the AK-74 is an automatic kalshnikov pattern rifle from 1974

Ah, okay. Even though the AK-74 is technically the same thing, just slightly modified, if I'm not too mistaken?

AK-74 is mechanically identical, but is chambered in 5.45x39mm as opposed to the AK-47 in 7.62x39mm...
